This summer I plan on posting recipes using local summer fruits and vegetables. Back in the late spring I started my first raised bed garden. With the idea of keeping it simple I planted tomatoes, several varieties, peppers, strawberries, herbs and an eggplant. The tomatoes have done wonderfully, the eggplant nothing yet, the peppers have […]
A Peach Of A BBQ
Having been home less than a week from our fabulous island vacation I’m beginning to settle in to my home routine…it is just the beginning of summer and not having to go to work is a bonus. I’m pretending I’m on a stay-cation now and making the most of the simpleness of summer on the Ridge. […]
Dinner With The Orange Bee
Wow! That was a blast….being guest chef at Central Market’s Dinner With The Orange Bee. Leading up to class I shared all of the tasty recipes we would make. I wanted to recap the evening, briefly. Then I”ll be sharing a peachy little recipe with you. The folks at CM were very easy and pleasant […]
Every Recipe Tested
Welcome! Today we are visiting vintage again. My Better Homes And Gardens Cook Book to be precise. This particular copy is the sixteenth printing, from August 1936. 76 years ago…wow!
Berry Berry Delicious
I’m outta here! Temporarily, that is. I will be heading out-of-town later this week with a bunch of girlfriends to have girl time and fun times down at the river. The Guadalupe River in Texas is a wonderful place to unwind, relax, chill out, call it what you like.
April, A Sweet Month

End of Green
March blew by in a hurry. Spring is in full force in North Texas, where I reside. Wind, rain and weeds abound. It seems yard work has taken over in the few free moments I can find. I couldn’t, however let March and “green month” end without one final post.
Avocado & Mango Salad
So avocado is green, right? Right! Mango does not come from anywhere near where I live but I went for it anyway, as they looked unblemished, plump and juicy! Today’s post of Avocado & Mango Salad is a delicious way to get into the mood for spring.
Green Apple Salsa
This is only my second “Green” post and I am having so much fun choosing foods and recipes to share with you, my readers. The produce section has taken on a whole new appeal, so many green choices to work with! Let’s talk about bees and how important they are to the production of food. […]
A Sweet Post
Time for a sweet post in “orange” month. These cherries in orange liquor turned out to be a wonderful topping for a bowl of Blue Bell Vanilla Bean ice cream; which I ate for lunch! As I smacked my lips (I was home alone so as not to annoy any family members) with every bite […]
