Honey is a precious commodity to me. I am selfish in choosing who will or won’t be the lucky recipient of the honey my bees make. If I know a person is honestly interested in the well-being of bees and truly enjoys a spoonful of the liquid golden elixir I am happy to sell or give […]
I have a hunch many of you have seen this or a similar list of the foods we would not find available if we didn’t have bees. I couldn’t help posting it for those of you haven’t seen it or who need a reminder. When discussing bees and what they pollinate, how they are truly […]
IT IS DONE! Honey Harvest 2013 is finished for the most part. I still have one small hive up the road which I will check on when the next “good” day rolls around. I may get a few more jars of honey from hive Queen Bella.
It’s become obvious to me that my blog posts are few and far between. My apologies! In my last post I promised a story about my latest bee adventure. Here it is and this is why Mr.F always reminds me, “bee keeping is nothing but problem solving”. Back in mid-May my man Dan and I […]

2013 has arrived and brought with it a big change for me. You may or may not have noticed my absence lately. I have felt it daily, my absence. I’ve not blogged once in this new month and I’ve missed it terribly. I have particularly missed the cooking and eating part of writing a food […]
I promised a recap of my most recent cooking class at Central Market. “Dessert With The Orange Bee”. Once again I thrilled at the sight of my name up on the board at the entrance to the store. But what was even more exciting is that Michael Chiarello was signing his cookbook “Bottega”
I promised a story about my “Sugar Shake” adventure with the bees. This experience was a first for me and possibly my bees. I can’t say for sure about the bees
How lucky am I, to have honey readily available for drizzling on anything – in this case leftover cornbread, for breakfast? I know you want some too – who wouldn’t? Having an abundance of honey to use daily is one reason I am a bee keeper. If my meals don’t call for honey I simply […]
