My mind is a jumble of emotions, questions, feelings and thoughts. I’d love to make or bake some delicious recipe to share with you but that’s not happening today. Today is the day of “The Last Supper”, not the one with Jesus and his followers but our last meal with Miss T before she heads off to college. This is a big deal!
It has yet to be decided where the last meal will take place. I’ve been preparing all of her favorites, spaghetti and meatballs, beef stroganoff, chicken & pasta Alfredo, homemade burgers, grilled salmon…but tonight is a toss-up. She is trying to decide between In n Out Burger, Hibachi Grill or another homemade Mom Meal. I’m betting on In n Out or Mom’s. Check back soon for the final location of “The Last Supper”
We will spend the day cramming the car full of clothes, trunks, boxes, books and maybe a stuffed animal or two. Her room looks deserted already except for the body still sprawled across the bed. I bet she’s going to miss that bed!
This day I am sharing Dr. Oz’s Green Tea and tangerine beverage recipe. I feel certain most of you have read about, tried or dissed this recipe. I stumbled upon it one afternoon while perusing Pinterest and bookmarked it for it’s refreshing and healthy sounding qualities. According to Dr. Oz, the Tangerine Weight-Orade is bursting with metabolism-boosting properties. The green tea is reported to boost metabolism by 12% and the tangerine has a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that burn fat. True or not it’s easy to make, refreshing on a hot summer day and goes perfectly with a little spoonful of honey. Hey, if it burns some fat and boosts my energy that is a perk I’ll gladly accept.
Accepting the fact that my baby will be heading to college tomorrow, now that is another story altogether…..
Enjoy!
Tangerine Weight-Orade
For a powerful metabolism-boosting drink, try Dr. Oz’s Tangerine Weight-Orade. It contains: green tea, shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup; tangerine, with a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to burn fat; and mint, a calorie-free flavor enhancer.
In a large pitcher, combine:
Stir this delicious concoction up at night so all the flavors fuse together. Drink 1 pitcher daily for maximum metabolism-boosting results. Add a spoonful of local, pure honey for added health and energy benefits.

I’ve not heard of this drink! sounds really good and I’m going to make a pitcher for sure. I can so relate your your daughter heading off to college. Its so bitter sweet and like you I could not concentrate on anything other than her last few days and getting her ready to go. After that, each visit home will be a huge, happy heart celebration!
